The Nueces Canyon Volunteer Fire Department was organized to serve the
residents of the Nueces Canyon area in times of emergencies. Its volunteers
are continuously striving to improve the fire department so that they may
be able to serve the area better and meet state regulation.
At present they maintain seven (7) pieces of fire equipment. Three of these are trucks used primarily for grass fires. Due to the terrain around the Canyon, these are in frequent demand and resultant in the greatest expense for the NCVFD.
As a volunteer organization, the NCVFD depends on contributions from landowners.
For questions about the NCVFD, please contact fire chief Josh Cox.
