I am Pat Patterson and I'd like to thank you for your interest and welcome you to my web page.
I have been a knife maker since 1991, and am a member of the American Bladesmith Society as an apprentice smith, and a founding member of the Texas Knifemakers and Collectors Association. I have always been an admirer of fine blades, and being an avid hunter, I developed a desire to try and build my own style. When I visited the shop of Johnny Stout several years ago, it inspired me to become a knife maker. He taught me most of the basics that I needed to know to become a true maker. Upon my retirement, I became a full time maker. I really enjoy making knives, and I try to create a high quality blade that will please and satisfy the user, and one that I would carry for myself. When I put my name on a blade, it is my guarantee to the customer that I have been successful.
The knives that I build are straight knives and folders. I use 440C and ATS-34 steel for the blades. I use Damascus steel upon availability and by special request. I use the stock removal method, and my grinds are the Hollow grind and the Flat grind. The handle materials that I use are Stag, presentation grade Stabilized Woods, Fossilized Ivory, Micarta, and G-10. The bolster materials are of nickel silver, titanium, and stainless steel. I use the best materials available on the market today. All of my knives are made by me in my shop from my patterns. I will custom build a knife from a customers design on a commission basis, with a 20% required deposit. I also offer file work and engraving upon request.
